Welcome to the new Chequers in Writtle, Chelmsford. Following a substantial refurbishment, the new owners, Bob & Christine Bennett and their children, Sarah, Katie & Rob have begun the job of making the pub into an attractive venue that has something for all the family.
The new menu offers a good selection of traditional meals along with an excellent Carvery for £5.45 (weekdays, £6.95 on Sundays)) served from 12 till 4pm on Sunday and from 12 till 2:00pm Wednesday to Friday.
The small intimate restaurant is available for hire and can seat up to 28 people or for buffet style occasions can accommodate upwards of 80 persons.
The Chequers Inn, is part of CAMRA CAMRA campaigns for real ale, real pubs and consumer rights. They are an independent, voluntary organisation with over 90,000 members and have been described as the most successful consumer group in Europe. CAMRA promotes good-quality real ale and pubs, as well as acting as the consumer's champion in relation to the UK and European beer and drinks industry. |
